Question: I have been diagnosed having actopic ezcema on my face only. My doctor prescribe me with aerius tablet, cerave cleanser, protopic ointment, and the other moisturizer from cethapil which i forgot the brand name. However, it still not working and every month, I still having ezcema on my face. Later, I change into Phsyiogel cleanser and face cream for calming relief and suitable for ezcema and I'm using it for the past 1year. It seems alright to me although the my ezcema occurs every month before my menstrualization period. However, it still could be control and not too severe. However, for the past 3 days, my ezcema become more severe and I start felt itchy, skin iritation on my whole face. I took aerius tablet when my ezcema came out only and control my sugar level intake, and not eating seafood. My question is what and how should I reduce my flare right now and to ensure i can control my ezcema?

Brief Answer:
Can be hormone-related

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The flare-up of eczema that you are having now is likely to be hormone-related. To decrease this flare-up you will need both oral and topical antibiotic based steroid combination along with an anti-allergic. These medicines are available only on prescription. You will have to consult a dermatologist for proper dosages required in your case.

To control this problem in the long term you will need hormonal treatment preferably low dose combined pills along with a strict cleansing regime. Do try to avoid sun and dust exposure as much as possible to avoid the flare ups.

I hope this answers your query.

Wishing you good health.
