Question: I have a lump on my gums above my front tooth and it hurts really bad whats the cause for it and what should I do

Well a painful lump above the upper front tooth can be an abscess.
However I need to see pictures of the lump to give a better suggestion.

Also please tell that is the tooth over which the lump js present having decay?
Is the tooth loose or mobile?
Is there pain in tooth also?
Did you have any history of injury to the tooth?

The tooth isn’t lose but it hurts while eating and there’s no tooth decay or anything like that. Neither Do I have a history of tooth injury.

Also earlier it was a soft lump but it’s a hard lump now

Hi..
Well if tooth hurts while eating then the problem seems to be associated with tooth decay only..

So it is advisable to get an x ray of the tooth done..

This will give a clear picture of the exact problem with the tooth..

Accordingly further treatment can be advised..

Its not tooth decay. I’ve had X-ray earlier and it was normal though

Can be a gum abscess..

Hi..
If it is not a tooth related issue then it can be a gum abscess..
You can take a course of antibiotics like Augmentin 625mg one tablet twice a day and anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibugesic plus one tablet twice a day for 5days.
Apply Chlorohexidine gel over the lump.
Do warm salt water gargles..
