Question: I have Sarcoidosis. Currently no major symptoms. Enlarged Lymph Nodes in my chest. Occasional Lung Issues - Coughing Irritation. Was diagnosed three years ago and confirmed with CatScan and Lung Biopsy. How concerned should I be about exposure to COVID-19? Should I stop domestic travel in the US?

Brief Answer:
You should avoid traveling only if you are on immunosuppressive drugs.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on 'Ask A Doctor' forum.
I can understand your concern.

If you are not taking any immunosuppressive drugs like corticosteroid for sarcoidosis then you can definitely travel in US. Just keep basic hygiene precautions like hand washing, mask etc for Coronavirus.

But if you are taking corticosteroid or other immunosuppressive drugs to keep sarcoidosis in remission then you should definitely avoid domestic travel. In this scenario chances of Corona infection is high.

So please let me know if you are taking any immunosuppressive drugs or not.
I will be happy to help you further.

Wish you good health.
Thanks
