Brief Answer:
Yes

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

The cysts occur in different sizes. The procedure depends on the size of the cyst. In case of large ones, open abdominal surgery is required. If in case the cysts is not more than 2 to 3 centimeters, it can be well removed by minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.

A laparoscopic surgery is wherein a camera-called endoscope is inserted into the abdomen via a 1 cm incision and instruments via another port of 1 cm. Such surgeries are considered minimally invasive as there is no major injury to the abdominal wall, recovery is faster, fewer chances of infection and faster recovery.

It is necessary to ascertain the type of cyst before surgery too, as a few type of cysts will regress on their own and a few must be removed by a surgery only.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.

Regards,
