I Had Blood In My Urine With A Little Pain

default
Posted on Tue, 17 Sep 2019
Question: I had blood in my urine with a little pain while urinating last week Monday. As quickly as that happened it went away. Everything has been fine since. A friend said it might have been a kidney stone. Then last night there was blood in my urine again. I had to go really bad but my urine flow stopped mid stream with a more intense pain than last week. I can feel that I still need to go to the bathroom but nothing is happening. I can't urinate. I've never had a UTI or bladder problems before. Please help.

Brief Answer:
Urinary stones likely

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome. Yes, this is most likely urinary stone and this is common even if you never had such symptoms before. You should not be worried since most stones pass spontaneously , at this point take lot of fluids, raspberry tea, and spasmodics for pain. However, if fever, abdominal distension and inability to pass urine fur 24 hours or progressive pain occur, then you need to see urologist for further work up and treatment. Some more serious causes are less common in your age but it would be good to check kidney function in future.

Wish you good health.
Regards
