Question: I had a urine test doctor said very minimal amount of blood in it 2 hours later I had another urine test there was no blood in that one. They sent both urine samples in for a culture both came back negative for anything? Why the blood and does a culture rule out cancer?

Brief Answer:
Trace of blood in urine does not matter

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Asymptomatic microscopic blood in urine does not indicate cancer or any disease. Up to 30 percent of all healthy people in the world will experience it at some point. If you do not experience pain, reduced kidney function, anemia or unexplainable weight loss, you should not worry, it is a chance finding.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have further questions.

Brief Answer:
No

Detailed Answer:
A culture would not rule out or confirm cancer. If you have other symptoms besides bloody urine, you should have a cystoscopy and CT urography.
