Question: I had a hysterectomy 3 months ago. I had intercourses today, and started having light bleeding. I’ve not had any bleeding since 5 weeks post op and I’ve been having intercourse with no issues.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for sharing your health concerns with us.

I have gone through your query and would like to offer some information.

In the current scenario, the more likely causes of the bleeding could be-
1. rough intercourse
2. local infection-causing trauma to the vaginal walls easily
3. vault tears.

Please avoid further intercourse until you are healed well. Contact your health care provider for a proper opinion and plan further management. Infection, if any, should be corrected. Vault problems, though very unlikely at this point in time, should be taken care of.

Hope your query has been answered.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Shanti.V
