I Got Two Of My Wisdom Teeth Extracted On Monday.

default
Posted on Sat, 24 Nov 2018
Question: I got two of my wisdom teeth extracted on Monday. Since the teeth had already grown in, nothing needed to be cut out. I had synthetic bone inserted in the socket of the bottom tooth so I don't get dry socket. It is now Saturday, and not only does the site of surgery hurt, but so do the teeth next to the surgical site. If I brush them, they bleed, and now the gums are quite red where they were bleeding earlier today. Yawning especially exacerbates the pain. I also have a habit of grinding and clenching my teeth when I sleep after dental surgery, and that exacerbates the pain, too. Is all of this normal?

Brief Answer:
Pain shall gradually reduce.

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Thanks for writing to us.

Well, as it is around 5 days of your tooth extraction, the pain should now gradually reduce.

However some amount of pain is normal as of now.

Redness and bleeding of gums is a sign of inflammation and will gradually subside.

But it is advisable to avoid vigorous brushing and use a soft toothbrush.

If the grinding and clenching of teeth is since the dental surgery therefore you need to relax and reduce stress.

Do meditation and deep breathing exercises.

Night guard can also be placed after consulting your Dentist.

Eat more of cool foods to reduce inflammation and bleeding.

Avoid eating hard and too hot foods.

Drink plenty of water and other cool fluids.

To be on a safer side get checked by your Dentist once to see of the extraction site is doing well and is not infected..

Accordingly antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkillers like Advil can be advised.

Hope I have answered your query.
Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
