I Got Blood Work. My Ast Was 615 And My
Question: I got blood work. My ast was 615 and my alt was 135. My anti hbsag was 313. I’m not a heavy drinker, I workout hated and got both hep a & b vaccinations in 2011 & 2015. Why are my numbers so high? I’m worried.

For hepatitis B surface, a level less than 5 mIU is considered negative, while a level more than 12 mIU is considered protective
If the “HBsAg” was positive, this means that you are either chronically infected with hepatitis B or were recently infected. If only the “anti-HBc” was positive, it is most likely that you either had a “false-positive” test or are immune to hepatitis B infection.So first thinga is get a Anti HBC done as you are vaccinated.This will make things clear.
However, an AST to ALT ratio of 2:1 or greater is suggestive of alcoholic liver disease, particularly in the setting of an elevated gamma-glutamyl transferase.Get a gamma glutamyl transferase test done.
Get a utrasound of liver done to look for fatty changes in liver due to acohol.
The amount of fatty acid in the liver depends on the balance between the processes of delivery and removal.Due to alcohol intake the number of transporter cells which carry fat from liver to peripheral parts(for utilization decreases);Causing increased deposition of these fatty acids in liver.Hence causing grossly deranged liver enzymes.
As far as vaccination are concerned they are not 100% effective so a person can have hepatitis despite of getting vaccined.
Follow up with reports.
