Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question. Hope I can be of help for you today. You may need to know if your partner has HIV or not. If your partner has HIV the chance of HIV infection is high for you. The usual time from HIV exposure to the development of symptoms is two to four weeks. Time to test positive HIV is enzyme linked immunoassay (IgG antibody) 35 to 45 days, western blot (IgM and IgG antibody) 35 to 60 days, and viral load test RNA 10 to 15 days. See your doctor to talk about post exposure prophylaxis HIV because it could be effective in HIV prophylaxis for within 72 hours.

I hope that It can help you, and please let me know if you have any clarification or question about that, and I would be welcome to discuss it with you further. I hope you have good health.

Best regards,
Dr. Heang Chan Raksmey, General and Family Physician
