Question: I am 35 year old male. My problems are as below

Lack of interest in anything and cannot do planned things.

Gas trouble and lack of energy, burping,

Lack of energy even after food and sleep.

No or very less sexual urge

It all started approximate 6 month before. I planned a permenant job, specialisation in profession and marriage this year. But nothing as planned. I think I am depressed. Started an antidepressant 5mg. But after two day I have much gas trouble and low appetite. So stopped.

After then I consult a general doctor and done all lft, blood, and urine. Doctor said all normal. Including tsh and sugar. And started vitamin multivitamins and p-od plus.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

From the available description it appears true that there is ongoing depression as evidenced by lack of interest in everything including pleasurable activities, Loss of energy, indecisiveness, lack of concentration among others.

Although you have not mentioned the dose of antidepressant but it is possible that probably you were prescribed escitalopram, which is good antidepressant. It is true that initial two three days are dominated by vague side effects but over a period of time the effects are obvious and so the control of depression.

I also like top make it clear that depression is biological thing and currently available tests are not enough to detect abnormality behind it.

In my opinion it will be wise to see a psychiatrist in your city as time is precious and there is no point in waiting more as six months already lapsed since depression started.

I hope this helps you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.

Brief Answer:
We need to address all issues

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

Since depression, stomach issues and energy level are all related we need to address every possible concern at the same time. Treating one ailment at a time will take much more time to show results than necessary.

Presence of past history of depression again favours the diagnosis of depression and delaying the treatment is never advisable.

I hope this helps you further.
Thanks and regards.
