How To Treat Pubic Lice In An Elderly Person?
Question: My husband is currently in a nursing home, it seems that he has contacted "crabs" how is this possible while in a nursing home. He is 73 years old has not had sex in a number of years, how is crabs treated? Do I need to take precautionary measures for myself, as I visit him daily.

Besides sexuall contact that is the most typically rout of transmission, crabs can be transmitted also through non sexuall contact.
He could have taken that from sleeping in a infested bad, using infested towel( that contains crabs ) or wearing infested clothes .
The treatment consist of using Over the Counter drugs (OTC,without prescription ): Permethrine lotion 1% or a lice killing shampoo ,you can find lots of products in the drug store .
You have to wash all his clothes , bad sheets in the washing machine and hot water .
To protect yourself: Avoid any closse contact with him or with his clothes.
