Brief Answer:
Hello,

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

You and your Gf had unprotected sex. Within 24 hours she took Ipill. If she took Ipill as instructed in the leaflet and did not vomit, then she should not get pregnant. Ipill is very effective especially when taken within 24 hrs. Regestrone is not a contraceptive.

I can understand your concern since she has not yet got her periods. Ipill affects the hormonal system of the body and hence may cause delayed periods, scanty periods, irregular periods, secondary amenorrhea is also seen in some women.

Sometimes, when the periods get delayed, the body may take a month or two to resume the regular menstruation.

However, failure rate of Ipill is around 10%. If she is getting too anxious then after waiting for a couple of days, she can get a pregnancy test done with the first morning mid-stream urine.

She should also get clinically examined by a Gynae, get per vaginal check-up done to detect bulky uterus and get USG done to detect ectopic pregnancy, pregnancy or any other pathology causing the symptoms.

She should not stress and stay relaxed. The treating Gynae will manage the symptoms and take care of her.

She is advised not to smoke, not to take alcohol or recreational drugs. Hope I have answered your question. Take care.

My main doubt is she took ipill and after 5 days she took regestrone so in this situation ipill is effective or not? Or because of regestrone ipill doesn't work ?

Brief Answer:
Hello,

Detailed Answer:
Welcome again,

Yes, Ipill will be effective. She took it within 24 hrs of unprotected sex & Ipill has quick onset. It is most active within 1-5hr to 2-5 hr of intake.

Ipill remains active in the body for 24 hrs. Do not worry, it will work unless she has vomited it.

Regestron is not a contraceptive. It is used to treat menstrual problems like irregular periods, heavy menstruation, PMS, etc. It will cause withdrawal bleeding 3-7 days after discontinuation.

Hope I have cleared your doubt. Take care.
