Brief Answer:
Stress fracture can take 2 -3 months to heal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The stress fracture has not healed till now due to lack of rest. This needs a complete rest and avoiding the painful activities. Using a brace will help. The nerve inflammation may take 12-14 weeks to heal. Taking short term oral staeroids, methylcobalamin supplements and medicines like Pregabalin can help. You can get the necessary medicines prescribed by your orthopedician.
I hope this answers your query.

I have not been seen by a orthopedic Dr. And my Dr has not recommended this. I have seen a neurologist, had an EMG the connection is good. The pain & swelling at 10 weeks led to him doing MRI. This showed an occult fracture of the end of the Ulnar bone & inflammation of nerve. Went back to my family Dr. He does not think anything needs done, just work on pain control. My only concern is that it has been close to 3 months of doing very little with my arm I am experiencing severe pain & swelling. When should it start to feel better?

Brief Answer:
Complete immobilization is needed for healing.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
To decrease the pain and swelling a complete immobilization is needed. You can get a plaster slab for the elbow to reduce the pain and swelling. Brace can also help.

Do you think I should see an orthopedic doctor for a splint? I can schedule this as my insurance has no restrictions on who I see
