How Does Complete Recovery Take After Total Knee Replacement?

Question: Hello sir,
My mother for both knee replacement . So I have some query regarding this:
1. what time it took to complete recovery after knee replacement.
2.at what seaon or month it is better for knee replacement.
3. after surgery is the patient allow to go on stairs and if yes then after how long she can be climb.
4 . how much percentage the surgery successful .

weight of my mother is 105 kg

Hi,

1. Complete recovery after Total Knee Replacement- normally takes about 3 months but it depends on pre operative condition as well as physiotherapy done.
2.No special season. Knee replacement can be done in any season. Those times are gone when you thought that winters are best.
3.Patient is allowed to climb stairs as soon as she is comfortable with pain. In my cases it takes about 2 weeks.
4.The surgery is generally successful now a days. There is no fixed percentage

However since your mother is overweight we can expect slow recovery only. I would advice not to delay surgery since delay can prolong physiotherapy.
