Question: Hi yes. I am a 48 year old man. Overweight. Recently I did a walking tour and walked for multiple miles. I sweat quite a lot. I have noticed pain in my groin area on the skin where my leg the bottom of by scrotum and left buttock meets. I try to stay dry by using powder there and also i itch on my scrotum. I was well and use some jock itch cream, but doesn't seem to help.

Brief Answer:
Intertrigo and its management

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints and you seem to have developed intertrigo which is inflammation of the body folds.
It is usually seen in overweight individuals due to friction between the body parts and moisture.
I would recommend you to apply topical steroid and antibiotic like neosporin ointment and cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily.
For itching you can take tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
This should subside your problem.
Besides this keep the area dry, avoid strenuous physical activity and prolonged walking.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
