Question: Have been taking 7.5 mg of Mirtazapine for anxiety and insomnia since XXXXXXX 12, 2018 and that was increased to 15 mg on XXXXXXX 18, 2018, Have had IC since 1997 and this medication appears to have aggravated the IC. The Mirtazapine appears to be doing all the wrong things. Sleeplessness, racing heartbeat and no increased appetite and now IC symptoms. Is this normal and should I stop taking the medication?

Brief Answer:
Medication can be continued

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Apparently, Mirtazapine is a very safe medication and has no association with IC symptoms. There is no need to stop this medication as the symptoms will gradually subside.
