How Can A Small Swelling On Left Hand Upper Wrist Be Treated?

default
Posted on Fri, 15 Nov 2019
Question: Hello Doctor -
My wife has a small swelling on left hand upper wrist. Kind of a bubble swollen inside nerve which she can press (something inside) without pain. It feels like a air bubble inside a vein or something which once pressed tapers down and again becomes swollen. I have attached few photos for reference.
Kindly help me to understand this more and if I need to do something on this.

Brief Answer:
Surgery can help

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Since its compressible, it could be a cyst or a bulging of a vein or lymphatic vessel.

An ultrasound of the swelling and , if needed, a biopsy can help find its origin.

You can consult a surgeon for further followup. A minor surgery will help clear it.

Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
