Question: Hi, where can I find a physician to treat abdominal cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome with neurotomy/nerve ablation procedure? Positive Carnett's test, positive trigger point injection, all short-term treatments, need ablation or long term fix. Will not accept unusable response!

Brief Answer:
Surgery is indicated in your case.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to " Ask a Doctor" service.

I have read your query and here is my advice.

Since the injections that are the mainstream treatment for abdominal cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome failed, surgery is indicated.

Neurectomy is the preferred surgical procedure in refractory cases, but, release surgery also may be tried.

It is a procedure that is done by general Surgeons or Neurosurgeons, depend on the experience.

It is necessary to provide your location in order to find a clinic that may offer this type of treatment near you

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask if you have further questions.

Thank you very much for your reply. I was confused since your name wasn't the original physician listed on this site. I look forward to your information on a provider for my condition.

Respectfully request provider referral for nerve ablation neurotomy for confirmed diagnosis of abdominal cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome. THE DIAGNOSIS IS ESTABLISHED: A.C.N.E.S. I have been trying many times on this site to find a physician to provide treatment. It is now 26 January 2020, please respond.

Answered below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

Since the diagnosis is established, most likely the medical center that achieved the diagnosis should have the possibilities to treat it even surgically, since the neurectomy for abdominal cutaneous nerve entrapment syndrome is a relatively simple surgical procedure, that is indicated in cases of other treatment ways failure.

Another center specialized in entrapment syndromes in the XXXXXXX area is Medstar Georgetown University Hospital.
(MedStar Georgetown University Hospital

Pasquerilla Healthcare Center (PHC), 7th Floor XXXXXXX DC 20007

Phone: 202-444-4972
Fax: 202-444-7333).

Dr. Spaho, the University of XXXXXXX Pain Clinic in XXXXXXX WA did this for me:
Four different physicians who spent most of each visit staring at the computer with their backs to me. Never any acknowledgment of my condition nor any attempt to discuss pain, much less "to optimize pain management strategies." Other than a useless TAP block (which confirmed a diagnosis already made 6 months prior) plus pointless scar injections, I made repeated 6 hr round trips (plus parking $$) for nothing. By all means go if you are good with student "fellows" there, apparently, to take random guesses about treatment, and you're OK with essentially starting over each time you go--appointments are at least a month apart with zero relief or plan. The last appt I was given a prescription for a med over which the pharmacist pulled me aside and said, "based on your meds, this should never have been prescribed for you." This is a teaching hospital. I need a neurosurgeon, not medical students.
