Question: Hi there. Two nights ago I had sex with a women on her period. I wore a condom. I am now worried of stds. After sex I checked and there was a little blood on the base of my penis. Which I cleaned off with alcohol wipes. I checked the condom and there was no tears or signs of slippage. Am I at risk of any STDs?

There is no risk to get HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in "Ask a Doctor".
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You should know that having protected sex there is no risk to get HIV and some STD.
In your situation exist a low risk to get STD if you have sores in your skin where is the contact with her blood. As well if she has skin lesion could exist the risk of syphilis HSV 2 or HPV just from the skin to skin contact.

Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
