Question: Hi, im a 45yr old male non smoker and social drinker. Im a generally healthy with no underlying medical conditions, or family history of severe illness. The only thing ive been diagnosed with is idiopathic hematuria which was told to me around two years ago. I have no other symptoms, appetite is fine and no major weight loss. However the last few weeks i was having twinges around different areas of the stomach and aching kidneys. I decided to have an ultrasound yesterday, all organs were fine however something starting with H was seen in the liver. The person undertaking the ultrasound says these are normal but mine has a fuzzy edge and to make sure all is ok she has sent me for a cat scan with contrast. Her opinion was it looks fine but best to check. You will see from previous posts i have health anxiety so my alarm bells are ringing with liver cancer. I understand the chances of me having this are low but would like an opinion from an expert.

Brief Answer:
No it's not cancer of liver.

Detailed Answer:
Hi thank you for choosing "Ask a Doctor" for your service,
Have seen your details and previous history.
As per your query regarding liver cancer. No it's not. If CT with contrast is normal it can't be liver cancer secondarily liver cancer is associated with a number of symptoms like Pain in the upper abdomen on the right side or near the right shoulder blade. Enlarged liver (hepatomegaly) -Veey likely the technician doing USG mentioned hepatomegaly which is a common and normal finding in adults.
So no it's not cancer.
Rest assured.
Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Sorry,
95% hemangiomas are benign and needs no treatment.
As per symptoms are concerned it don't thing it has any thing to do with malignancy.
A CT would make things 100% clear but clinically I don't think their is any chance of it being a malignant tumour.

Regards!
