Question: Hi, here recently I’ve noticed it’s a little harder to swallow some foods I can swallow good but it seems like smaller food seem like they sit in my throat below my Adam’s apple if I can behind with water or more food it usually pushes it down?

Acid reflux is the most common cause for “globus” (sensation of having a lump or something stuck in the throat). However, other causes like any lump or mass in the esophagus(food pipe) must be ruled out especially if you are above the age of fifty.

You should undergo an endoscopy for further assessment.

As of now, you can take over the counter available antacids like omeprazole or pantoprazole for symptomatic relief.
