Question: Hi doctor,

Recently, i had abdomen ultrasound and incidentally find a Gallbladder polyp of 2 mm in the neck region of gallbladder. and also fatty liver stage 1. My doctor said, not to worry. Could you check and let me know what steps need to taken about the polyp as it is just incidental finding and i don't have any pain on stomach.

A gallbladder polyp of 2 mm size is insignificant and can be ignored.
No active intervention needed.

For fatty liver -
1. Get a liver function test done
2. Reduce weight if obese
3. Check blood glucose and cholesterol levels
4. Avoid alcohol

Hi Doctor,

Regarding the polyp, do we need to do frequent ultrasounds and i googled it , just a concern, can it be a cancerous in future?

Will not become cancer in the future

Hi,
Your polyp is too small and insignificant.
It is unlikely to become cancer in the future.
This does not require periodic ultrasound scans.
Only polyps more than 10 mm size require such surveillance
