Brief Answer:
Necessary precautions must be taken

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I understand your concern. I am assuming that your hernia is not the size that requires surgery yet and the doctor has decided on a wait and see approach, for possible complications.

Assuming you are experiencing any pain or discomfort, you may go on vacation, but you need to take some necessary precautions and lifestyle changes. Avoid heavy lifting, avoid heavy meals, avoid constipation or any activity that may cause you to strain. If the hernia is hiatal, then avoid spicy meals and take acid reducing medication.

Since hernias are usually caused by muscle weakness, I wouldn't recommend getting into a jacuzzi, as heat causes muscle relaxation.

If you experience any kind of nausea, abdominal pain or discomfort please seek medical attention.

I hope this answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
