Is One Breast Being Bigger Than The Other A Sign Of Inflammatory Breast Cancer?

Question: Hi. XXXX here. My anxiety is really al over the place and I am scared. I went to the doctor today because my one breast is bigger than the other. It always has been a little, but it feels swollen. I made the mistake of googling my systems and I'm scared that I have Inflammatory Breast Cancer. She felt my boobs and felt no lumps, but I know that IBC doesn't work that way. I have also been on these birth control pills for four months and I think they are messing with my head and probably my body. But I don't know why the birth control would cause one boob to swell and not the other. What are you able to tell me? Am I worrying for nothing?

Hello dear. I understand your concern. An inflammatory breast cancer is characterized by erythema, edema and palpable border. A lump may not be felt on examination. I dont think that is in your case, as it is just a discordance of size.
Even then if you are worried, you can go for an mri of breast to be more sure. However, i still feel there is no cancer. No need to worry.

Thank you!! I'm just worried other symptoms will follow. But it is quite rare right? How could I go from one day my boob looking normal to one boob swollen? Could the pill make one boob more swollen?

So what could be some of the causes for my one boob to be slightly swollen all of a sudden? Is Iflamatory Breat Cancer a worrisome theory and I really shouldn't worry?
