Hi, I’m A 25 Year Old Male That Doesn’t Drink

Question: Hi, I’m a 25 year old male that doesn’t drink or smoke. I always maintain a healthy weight. I week ago I made a visit to an urgent care facility; complaining from mild and dull ache near my pelvis area, and back. The doctor ordered a urinalysis and it came back with no infection in the urine but small RBC has been seen in the urine. The urine lab test was a POC urine dipstick. And after the visit I was experiencing some dull ache in both my shin bone right and left leg, and aches in my right arm and left arm with one time sharp shooting feeling in my left testicle and pelvis. I went to see a GP and he ordered an Abdominal X-ray to screen for stones and no stones were seen. I’ve also noticed I had this buzzing vibrating feel between my scrotum and anus( perineum) bone with no pain; just a vibrating feeling. I would like to know what this would be? And are there any other tests my doctor should order?

Brief Answer:
Need to consult qualified Urologist .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query.
Based on the facts that you have posted the pain in left abdomen and occasionally in left testicle and legs with few RBC detected in urine analysis that you have could be mostly due to Stone in the ureter .Though the X-Ray abdomen did not reveal any stone there are few type of stones that are not radio opaque hence are not detected on X ray .

Consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis .

Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.

In the mean while start taking antibiotics like Cefixime and Nitrofurantoin twice daily along with urine alkalizer Citralka thrice daily.

Ensure to drink more water to keep yourself well hydrated .and to keep your urine dilute and alkaline .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions, I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

I’m still waiting for the urine culture to come back in the meanwhile I won’t be able to get the medication you mentioned because I live in the USA and it’s not over the counter. I can only get it with a doctor’s prescription. Can taking antibiotics before the results come back effect my health in any kind of way? I can get the Urine Alkalizer only.

My urinalysis showed no infection and no blood was seen. Should this be the end of perusing the cause of the blood in the previous dipstick test or should I ask more tests; like cytoscopy and ultrasound?
