Question: Hi, I would like someone to take a look at some pictures of my foot. on my heel and on the side I have a small area of spots and dry skin. Also a small part of my big toenail is a sort of yellow colour. could the spots be athletes foot? what do you think has happened to my toe nail. I am a marathon runner and train 6 days a week so could this be a reason for it? some times the areas are itchy but not often. is it something I should be worried about? I have no other symptoms but my feet have been like this for a little while. Thanks

You seem to have a fungal infection to great toe nail as well as the skin of that feet. Chaffing of skin, itching and discoloration of the nail are features of fungal infection.I would suggest you to take an oral antifu gel e.g terbinafine or itraconazole for 6- 8 weeks. In addition I suggest you to apply a topical antifungal e.g either amorolfine cream or luliconazole cream, for that entire duration. These are prescription medication and I advice you to use these under supervision and guidance of your local doctor.
