Question: Hi I wasnted to ask if it's common to have more dry eye discomfort in the outer corners of the eye so the parts furthest away from the nose and to have discomfort at these sides of the eyeball such as grittiness from time to time near where the skin meets the eyeball and if with the pictures attached you could tell me if my eyes look dry at all( I understand the pictures are very limited).

Brief Answer:
Yes it can be common to have such discomfort

Detailed Answer:
Hey thanks for your question . As you mentioned you have history of eczema then in that case you can have grittiness at the edges . You can use over the counter lubricating eye drops for the same . But the images you provided dear cannot help us with diagnosing dry eye . To diagnose a dry eye we need to see and examine the patient and then come at a conclusion but eczema patients are more prone to it . Hope my answer helps you. Regards .

I wanted to ask if dry eye symptoms include grittiness in a localised area and not across the entire eye surface such as the outer corners and the eyelids.

Dry eye usually causes whole eye grittiness

Detailed Answer:
Hey thanks for the follow up .Dry eye usually causes a global problem but sometimes deposits can form due to dry eye which can cause a localised grittiness . For them we need to examine the eye and then proceed accordingly . Regards

So dry eye on it's own shouldn't cause grittiness in one part of the eye ball as I get sharp bouts of a gritty feeling?

Hi thank you for the previous replies they have been very useful, I just wanted a final opinion, do you think that an adverse gritty reaction could occur after using Ketofall allergy eyedrops which I tried and did not agree with- apologies only used them for 4 days and forgot to ask.

Brief Answer:
Ketofall is a good antiallergic

Detailed Answer:
Hey, thanks for the follow-up.

Ketofall is a good antiallergic and I don't think it will cause grittiness. It's better to get a follow-up examination though.
