Question: Hi
I have developed a pointy lump on the end of my elbow. What could this be.
I have had a high ESR blood count for some months - 109.
The lump is not sore. I have had no injury to this elbow. The other elbow is also developing a pointy lump but it is not as bad. My Gastro thinks I could have AS .

Brief Answer:
Possibly olecranon bursitis

Detailed Answer:
hi
yes there is definitely a possibility as crohns can predispose you to arthritis.
however having a lump at the elbow can also be a sign of bursitis.
however if it is not causing any discomfort you don't really need to do anything about it,as you are already on humira, and that will take care of the arthritis affecting your joints along with the crohns.
olecranon bursitis require s you to avoid putting pressure on the elbows, avoiding heavy weight s and at the most you can apply pain gel or use sone protection around the elbow.
