Question: Hi, I have an elevated PLT count (457), & Vit B12 (1320). Besides elevated cholesterol, all other labs came back within normal limits. I do not take any vitamin supplements nor take any oral shake supplements with Vit B12. I have been menstruating since mid-September--soaking 3-5 pads per day (12 hour overnight pads). I never get nose bleeds & one day (within the past 2 weeks) during a long shift, I thought it was sinus drainage, but I had a bloody nose that I had to go to the bathroom to take care of. My periods are sporadic...sometimes I go 3 or 4 months without one, however in 2017, I bled for 10 months straight & had to have a D&C, which only found a thickened endometrial lining. This is the first time since the D&C where I am bleeding for long duration again.

Brief Answer:
About high VitB12 and high PLT;

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I have gone carefully through your concern.
The Vit 12 and PLT leves are slightly elevated.
If you do not abuse with alcoohol and have no liver disease, i would recommend to see a hematologist for myelopeoliferative diseases.
Vit B12 can be also elevated due to high intake of meat products, but as it is associated with high PLT i would recommend to exclude an early stage of mote serious diseases.
A hematologist would be able to suggest further examinations.
Hope the information will help.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta

Hi Dr. Guni, Thank you for your reply. I do not consume alcohol, save for once a year and I also do not have a high intake of meat products. I will see about a referral to a Hematologist. Thank you much.
