Question: Hi, I have a lump on my anus. I think it is an external hemorroid, it does not bleed and it feels weird and a bit annoying. I have ordered some creams, what else can I do? Never had it before so not really sure on what to do. I am 23, is this out of the ordinary? Thank you :)

Brief Answer:
not out of ordinary

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.
This is common condition in all ages and you should not be worried. Most external hemorrhoids pull back on its own. These may become thromobosized and then you may feel swelling and pain or blood in stool.
When this happens, you should apply heparine gel twice daily during warm shower and at same time massage the area of hemorrhoid. This should dissolve thrombus inside hemorrhoids within 1-2 weeks.
If this is present, but there is no pain or bleeding then usual antihemorroidal ointments may be applied. It is also important to regulate your stool by adequate diet, high fibre diet and boiled food, fruit and vegetables.
Bioflavonoids pills may be efficient as well.
Surgery is the last option but may be required if symptoms worsens.
Wish you good health. Regards
