Question: Hi I am about to change from Zoloft to Lexapro. I am currently on 50 mg of Zoloft and the goal is to do 10 mg of Lexapro. Please tell me how I can transition. Do I need to wean or can I just switch. Also is there as big of a chance of weight gain with lexapro?

Yes lexapro can certainly cause weight gain.

For switching from Zoloft to lexapro, reduce Zoloft to 25mg for one week and simultaneously start 5mg of lexapro. Then, stop Zoloft 25mg after one week and increase lexapro to 10mg.
