Hello dear Kaj!

Welcome back on -Ask a Doctor- service!

I reviewed all our previous discussions and in not any cases we have concluded about possible low qrs on your ECGs.

Nevertheless, in case you have any additional ECG recordings I would kindly ask you to upload them here for a second review.

Meantime, I remain at your disposal for any further questions, and discussions in case you will need.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri

As always, you are great.

I was wondering,. because I have bought a "kardia" app for phone, which a cardiologist recommended for me to try to catch these sudden onsets of very high heartrate. And this always shows low QRS waves. When other test it, they have not the same result.

But now, I found on a Kardia site that many has asked about the same thing - why do I have lowwwwww QRS voltage when my wife does not on same appliance. They say it might be diffrent things like warm cold sweaty, skin etc.

So I guess I dont really have low voltage qrs, it is just something in my hands that responds diffrent through skin or something to the app?

With all my tests at cardiologists, I guess low qrs would be detected and also if it was because of heart failure of some form.

My opinion as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again, dear Kaj!

You are right about those "kardia" app; they may be helpful as a rough guide when a rhythm disturbance happens. Even in this case it is full of artifacts, so it is just an addition tool to help you when it may be necessary to ask medical attention.

But, from the other side, we can't rely absolutely on such apps for concluding on specific ECG abnormalities, including QRS and other waves amplitude. They could not substitute the professional ECG machines with their complete range of recording leads.

So, don't worry what your "Kardia" app has warned you. It is a false alarm.

If low QRS voltage were present, it would have been detected by your attending doctors and of course included in our second opinion on this medical site.

But, this has never happened.

So just relax and don't worry about it!

Hope to have have been helpful to you!

Let me know in case of other questions.

Best regards,

Dr. Iliri
