Question: Hey there , I’ve seen about 50-60 + GP’s aswell as About 10-15 Private GPs about my pain in my back that has been crippling me for years. They’ve offered me stuff called naproxen or codeine but neither of these things do anything for my pain.

But with ANY doctor I’ve seen they say the stronger stuff is addictive etc, but I’ve heard it all before and I just want my life back. English doctors will not prescribe ANY opioid medication but without sufficient pain relief it I’ve had to stop my extremely business this time of year.

I have had surgery twice on herniated discs (lower) and prolapsed S1 ,so it effects my sleep, my mood , even my physco when I don’t sleep because I’m in soo much pain I tell doctors and they say to love with it

PLEASE PLEASE someone actually help me or put me in touch with a pain specialist that can prescribe me something that will give me my life back.

I can go and source pain medication as most people could if they wanted but I am not one of those people and I’m trying everything I can to get through to the English doctors but they won’t listen , the strongest I’ve been offered is bupernorpine PATCHES of which I am allergic to the glue inside so that is no good neither does it really solve any of the pain . Please put me in the right direction of a mobile/cell phone of a doctot that can prescribe or help me or recommend me . More advice would be appreciated 0000

I’m 26, own my own very successful business but the pain (and therefore) lack of sleep debilitated me and my business. I’ve literally emailed and enquired with about 10 XXXXXXX doctors also but again, no help there either.

I’m just enquiring on what to expect in the future of enquires and to see if you or anyone else could give any further information?

Brief Answer:
wow, age 26

Detailed Answer:
Ok, first of all, we are not a referral service. We cannot prescribe diagnose treat or refer BUT, we can give general information and that is mainly what you are wanting anyway.

So, in many XXXXXXX States there are pain management physicians who do actually prescribe opiates for this particular situation. That may require some difficulty in finding them. They may be in a University hospital.

Then, there are a number of other medications and other options but in someone who has had surgery repeated surgeries rarely improve the situation.

Muscle relaxants (methyl carbamol is one), medications with a lidocaine like effect (amitryptiline is one), medications that damp down nerves (carisoprodol and gabapentin are two) are some medications that are used. Psychological measures, just learning what not to do to the back, acquatherapy, tens units, implanted medicine pumps are some other options but the implanted devices will not be found except with specialists. Physical therapy with buidling up supporting muscles, getting a higher pain tolerance, learning to move better are some physical modalities that are often helpful.

Those would be most of the treatments.
