Question: Hello, I've noticed a very significant decrease in seminal fluid in the past 6 months to a year. I've tried to look up the reason but cant seem to find anything specific. The only thing major that's happened in my life is that I've gained alot of weight but other than that no other changes that im aware of. Is there any way to reverse this?

Brief Answer:
Rule out testosterone, thyroid imbalance

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting us with your health question

Decrease in seminal fluid volume can occur due to reduced testosterone levels. Weight gain can cause decreased testosterone levels and it can occur vice versa as well.
Moreover, low thyroid activity can also contribute to such symptoms.

So, it is recommended to get testosterone level and thyroid function test done at this point. Also, follow a healthy diet and exercise regularly to manage weight gain.
Please be advised to follow up with your primary provider for detailed evaluation and management accordingly.

Thank you very much for your assistance, i was really worried. I've also noticed that it seems like my testicles have reduced in sized, is that also because of a low testosterone level/ thyroid issue?

Brief Answer:
Hormonal imbalance can cause these problems

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Reduced thyroid hormone and testosterone levels can cause reduction in testicular size as well.
However, an ultrasound scrotum is required to see if there is an actual decrease in volume of testis and rule out any other testicular pathology.
So please follow up with your primary provider for getting the hormone levels and ultrasound test done.
