Question: Hello Doctor,
I have post nasal bronchitis for which I take prescribed medicine
1) Ketasma
2) Montain 10 mg

My cold keeps coming back and I don't want to take these anti biotics. I have started taking homeopathy instead.
Can I take influenza shots for cold?

Detailed Answer:
Hii. You are having allergic rhinitis which is inflammation of the nose. You need to consult an Ent surgeon as you may be having postnasal drip. You need to thoroughly check your nose and sinuses. Get a nasal endoscopy done to see the nose if there is any allergic inflammation present or not. Get a x ray paranasal sinus and chest x rah done. If your are having bronchitis or any post nasal drip better you should start an antibiotic for short duration as it will prevent further infection. The infection can superced inflammation if not treated properly by antibiotic. Take antiallergic medication montelukast levocetrizine. Take steam inhalation Take saline nasal spray to clear the mucus. Take fluticasone nasal sprah to reduce inflammation. Stay away from allegens. You need to follow these measures for better treatment. Nowadays majority of bronhitis and rhinits is either viral or bacterial in nature. So,you can take influenza vaccine as it will prevent you from complications of influenza infection.
