Have Intense Pain On Left Side And Thought It Might
Question: Have intense pain on left side and thought it might be gas so took Mylanta an hour ago, but no change. Now right side is reacting also. Hard to lay down on either side. Occasional flatulence, but not enough to help.

I have read your query and here is my advise.
* The intense pain on left side can be from various reasons, as right side is also reacting
now, possibility of gravels or calculus in the kidney is more likely which present in
similar fashion in many of the cases ; intestine colic or other issues are secondary
consideration.
My guidelines at present
- Primary goal is to control the intense pain, which can be obtained via pain killer
injection ( as diclofenac or dicyclomine ) with your primary care provider or
oral tablet of similar content which requires prescription of the doc.
- Secondary goal should be to get an ultrasound of the abdomen & pelvis to look inside
the definite cause and further management accordingly.
