For About 3 Days, My Daughter Complained About Headache (left

Question: For about 3 days, my daughter complained about headache (left side and centre back), dizziness (or perhaps light headedness) and afraid of noise (all sounds seems to be extra loud to her so noise makes her very uncomfortable. For example, water noise from the kitchen when washing dishes). Saw family doctor on day 1, and she suspect her left side shoulder/neck muscle tightness may cause the problem. So we did massage at home and hot bath. But doesn't seems to work. 3 weeks ago she did complain about left shoulder muscle soreness after waking up but gone after 3-4 days.
She is a competitive figure skater with a lot of trainings on ice and off ice. But she has been pretty much free from injuries. She does balanced exercise from fitness to dance to yoga to support skating. She also does regular stretching for flexibility but we did realize the stretching is mainly on lower body and she perhaps doesn't do much on shoulder and neck muscle stretching regularly.
She has a busy life with training and home schooling but she has been in general, a very open and happy child, normally doesn't stressed by anything. She does have a major competition coming up in a week but she said she doesn't feel stressed at all except a little excited. We put no pressure on her either as she is young but already advanced so no point to push.
Wonder if a Sports Medicine Specialist can have any suggestions. Also any recommendations to prevent muscle tightness going forward (regardless if it is the root cause of her current problem or not).
Thanks!

Brief Answer:
Regular stretching exercises will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The muscle tightness near the neck and shoulder that she has can happen due to a sudden jerk or movement of the neck. This usually subsides with rest and oral muscle relaxant or a muscle relaxant gel and a hot compress. To prevent any such happenings in the future, it is best to do regular neck and shoulder stretching exercises once the pain is gone. This will help in building up the muscle tone. She can also avoid using a pillow or the abnormal neck positions. The uneasiness with noise is not likely to be related to this.
I hope this answers your query.
