default
Posted on Wed, 20 Feb 2019
Question: Early this morning I woke up and tried to look at the clock on my nightstand, the time looked like it was moving from right to left very fast like a message board. I could not focus on objects or make it stop. I just closed my eyes and went back to sleep. Condition has not reoccurred today.

Brief Answer:
Nystagmus to be considered.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to 'Ask a Doctor' service.

I have read your query and here is my advice

Unstable vision may be related to nystagmus, a symptom that indicates problems with the equilibrium apparatus or problems with certain parts of the brain.

A ministroke, transient ischemic attack, etc. may cause such symptoms.

So, in your case, I think there is a need for a medical evaluation as the first step to understand correctly your condition.

Please discuss with your primary care Doctor for these issues.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
