Earlier In The Week I Noticed What Appeared To Be

Question: Earlier in the week I noticed what appeared to be an indentation across the middle of my nose. At first I thought it a shadow ..then possibly cause by my reading glasses..but decided it wasn’t because I wear the glasses a bit further up. No one has noticed this indentation..but of course I see it every time I look in the mirror..I can also feel it if running my finger lightly across my nose. I’ve looked it up..and I’m afraid it could be serious ..like cancer..but I don’t even know what kind of Dr. I should see. I have a dermatologist appointment in a few weeks..should I start with him?

Brief Answer:
Nothing serious .

Detailed Answer:
Hi Cinsom68,
I understand your concern.
The indentation on nasal bridge can be a scar of healed tubercle following infection of nasal skin in middle of nose(the mid point on dorsum of nose.).The skin on this area is very much notorious to get infected to form an abscess.
Other possible cause is a hit on the area.. causing pain & injury to septal cartilage....mostly it is painful.
Carcinoma is not likely to cause a. indentation .
You can get examined by your family physician &get your doubts solved.
I hope that answers your query.Any flow up query is welcome.
Thanks
