Does Warfarin Interact With Nitric Oxide?

default
Posted on Thu, 25 Feb 2016
Question: I have just placed an order for Nitrinol from the Uni Science Group (contact YYYY@YYYY ).
I am hoping that the Nitric Oxide product is safe to use with warfarin which I take (5mg/night) for a St XXXXXXX Mitral Valve I had installed in an operation in 2002. I am 76 years of age and quite healthy but would like some of the added pleasure that appears to be offered by the product.

Brief Answer:
No documented interactions but informing your cardiologist is important

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Nitric oxide does not have any documented adverse drug interactions when taken with warfarin as per latest drug interaction updates and this has been confirmed by me.

2. Therefore it is unlikely that taking Nitrinol and warfarin together will cause any side effect which will affect your health.

3. However it is important to inform your cardiologist about taking warfarin and nitric oxide together so that the dose of warfarin is regulated and there is no increased bleeding tendency when taking both medicines.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
