Brief Answer:
The Ranexa can decrease the effectiveness of the Primidone.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

Ranexa can decrease the levels of Primidone in your system. For this reason, the combination is considered to have major interactions.

I advise you contact the cardiologist who gave you the Ranexa and tell him or her that you were told by the pharmacy that these 2 medications should not be given together because the Ranexa decreases the effect of the Primidone. And that you have noticed your tremors are increasing.

The cardiologist may not want you to discontinue the Ranexa abruptly but may suggest how to tape it and may want to switch you to a different medication to eventually replace the Ranexa.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
