Hi there,
Thanks for writing in.
I am a qualified and certified medical specialist with an additional degree in cardiology. and I read your mail with diligence. Blood reports and EKG can be normal despite lesion in the brain causing left sided weakness of body. However, as you have written, I will add a rider that is:
If CAT scan was done 24 hours after the onset of weakness with weakness still persisting then it means there is no organic lesion (I am assuming you had been seen by a doctor and CAT scan has been reported by a competent person). That leaves your doubt of anxiety causing it to be true. Can you describe the degree of weakness that will help in strengthen the diagnosis and help in following it up.
My suggestion would be, here I am also taking into account your weight to ask your doctor about any support group which is operative in your community. That will go long way to help you.

If you have any more query I will be most happy to answer it.
Regards

My parents brought me to the emergency room because I was having chest pains, shortness of breath, I was getting tired very easily (after taken a couple steps), and having severe body sensitivity to touch. They made me go through the triage center and when they saw my heart rate was reaching up to 146 they admitted me. While in the ER my heart rate was maximum 186 and the doctors there could not find anything through the EKG, X-rays, and all the other tests they had administrered to help them find something to explain my rapid heart rate and tiredness. Well, I was admitted as an impatient the next day after going home and having diarrhea and vomiting all night. I stayed in the hospital a total of 3 1/2 days and they could not find anything wrong with me internally, from what they could see.

My general doctor who is also a cardiologist has already done a 2D echo-cardiogram and has put me on a holter monitor for 24 hours, hoping something would show up. the holter monitor showed that my heart rate goes up to 190 and he is so puzzled as to what it could be. He is thinking I have had this my whole life but only started noticing these symptoms now. He now wants to admit me in a hospital that specializes in cardio issues and is already consulting with anther doctor but they have not made a final decision yet as to what tests they want me to do and where they want to send me.

What could this be?

Hello Dr. Recent days I am feeling that during early mornings some days, my heart beat goes little high and due to that i feel any of the body part ( hand, or leg ) vibrating kind of sense. After i feel such changes, i wake up immediately and as soon as I sat on the bed, the heart beat becomes normal. I have consulted a Cardiologist and he has taken ECG and told me that I am normal, but he suggested couple of tablets in the morning and night to be taken. But still some time I feel this symptoms again. I have high BP taking tablets regularly. most of the time the BP is around 130/90. I am going for morning walk/exercise once in three days regularly. Please suggest what Should I do more to reduce my BP and get rid of fast hear beat? regards Ram
