First of all I would like to tell you that as the dental treatment if involves any such procedures that are painful or surgical in nature then they are done under local anaesthesia to avoid pain.
Secondly painkillers are advised post treatment to reduce pain episodes.
As you have written that you might need implants and gum therapy I would suggest you to first visit an Oral Surgeon and Implantologist so that they can examine you appropriately and treatment plan can be advised.
