Question: Dear Sir, I am 47 and on type 2 diabetic medication for the last 9 months. I am taking melmet 500 SR (morning and night). My random blood sugar levels are in the range of 110-140. But my fasting blood sugar is always high (mostly around 150). Would you kindly provide some suggestions

Brief Answer:
You can take tablet metmet 750 SR at night after consultation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

As per your history, please let me know your Postprandial i e after breakfast and HbA1c i e three months average sugar.

If only fasting sugar is on higher side, I would suggest you to take tablet melmet 750 SR at night instead of 500 SR after physician consultation and monitor the blood sugar levels.

You may require dosage adjustment as per the blood sugar levels. Along with that strictly follow diabetic diet and daily exercise for 30 to 40 mins.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
