Could Someone Please Explain What The Following Results Of My
1. Lymphocytes 56% (a limited panel of antibodies was performed due to low cell yield)
2. Mixed population of B-lymphocytes (5%) and T-lymphocytes (51%)
3. No B-Cell surface light chain restriction is detected
4. CD45 negative 44%
5. Events/Debris: (may represent degenerated cells/unlysed red blood cells, debris, etc)
6. Each marker in this analysis was used to assess for potential antigenic abnormalities or to evaluate detected abnormalities.
7. right groin lymph node shows fibrous tissue and minute fragments of lymphoid tissue with vascular congestion and rare possible follicles.
8. There are no definite Reed-Stenberg cells, metastatic carcinoma or granulomas identified.
9. The findings suggest a reactive lymph node".
I have recently run tests such as a comprehensive metabolic panel, c-reactive protein, ESR, TB, Antinuclear Antibody IFA (ANA), Thyroid, Cascade, CBC and Diff. All of these tests came back normal.
Your condition is due to acute inflammation and nothing to worry.

Hello

I have gone through your question, I understand your concern.
first of all as you said what is fibrous tissue ,fibrous tissue means collection of collagen fibres and dead cell debris which is the ultimate result of any type of inflammation.
So as in your lymph nodes they are saying fibrous tissue that means there is collagen fibre collection, dead cells which are making fibrous tissue, there is nothing to worry about this, because this fibrous tissue will resolve on its own.
Now vascular congestion, whenever there is acute inflammation, it leads to collection of of neutrophils lymphocytes in the inflammatory area, that leads to blockage and congestion of vessels like capillaries and arteries, that term is called vascular congestion.
Follicles means fluid-filled sac, so in your report there is possibility of follicle but they are not confirm about that.
so overall I would say there is nothing to worry about your lymphocyte count is almost within normal limits your condition is due to inflammatory enlargement of live node that will resolve by medication given by your doctor probably one antibiotic and one anti inflammatory drug
I hope your query is clear now.
Thanks and regards

Yes, may be due to any infection.

Rare follicles means follicles are rarely seen in your biopsy, means in one microscope field there are follicles present but really seen for one microscopic view.
follicles does not serve any purpose, these are just fluid filled sac due to inflammation.
I hope your query is clear now.

My lymph nodes have been tender and swollen for 8 years now. They are in my groin and under my armpits. I have been placed on many different antibiotics and nothing has changed. This is why I had the biopsy. Do you have any thoughts on this?
What does it mean if there are follicles identified in my lymph nodes? What are they, and what purpose do they serve? And why does the biopsy report use the term “rare” follicles?
What is the normal range of lymphocytes? You mention that mine are slightly elevated. Could this be due to a viral infection?
Thank you for your help.
What is the normal range of lymphocytes in the lymph nodes? Mine are 56%. There are 5% B lymphocytes and 51% T lymphocytes. Could you advise how high above normal ranges my count is? And can you comment on the B and T cell differential, and what it could possibly indicate?
I have an appointment with an Infectious Disease specialist soon. I am going to request that he cultures my lymph nodes to identify any virus, bacteria, etc. What are your thoughts on this?
Thank you.
Normal range around 40 %

So ye culture is a good idea.
