Could UTI Be Causing A False Test Result For Pregnancy?
Question: So I think I may be pregnant I have many of the symptoms including darkining areola and when I use pre test all come negative or sometime a light positive but if I use whole blood I get a positive right away everytime. I've been testing for about 4 or 5 days with pee and just started the blood thing yesterday I was using meth I stopped when I suspected I may be pregnant and I also have a uti. Could something be causing a false test result? I use equate early result.

UTI itself can cause slight positive result on urine pregnancy test.
Positive blood test could be seen in pregnancy itself. Other causes of positive blood hcg test is missed pregnancy (recent abortion), ectopic pregnancy, gestational trophoblastic disease (active or queiscent), laboratory false positive or pituitary gland is secreting more hcg hormone for some reason. That is why we need to repeat the test in a laboratory and if possible, we must also run an ultrasound abdomen.
There is nothing to panic for now.
You can simply ask your doctor to run the above tests based on the result of home tests and your symptoms.
