Brief Answer:
In general is not necessary any blood test.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.

I have read your query and here is my advice.

If cortisone injection is intended for local use ( for example for intraarticular use or spinal injection ) generally there is no need to check the systematic cortisone levels.

Only in cases of known imbalances, it is necessary to evaluate the levels prior to injection.

If you use blood thinners, or suffer from any hematological disease, an evaluation is necessary prior to injection.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
