Brief Answer:
para umbilical , incisional hernia possible over side of your abdomen.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* You can get a hernia above umbilicus known as para umbilical hernia ( not
necessarily in the midline ), scar or incisional hernia can also be one side if
the incision is over lateral region of midline as surgery of stomach
perforation or others so far as anterior abdomen is concerned.
Otherwise epigastric hernia is always in the midline.

* Over the back region, one can get lumbar hernia in lumbar region over
one side.

If you can provide further details of symptoms or associated condition, further in depth focus can be possible in the case.

Awaiting for your response.

Thank you.
Regards.

Thank you. I found 2 pea size lumps in abdomen on muscles, one on right side and on on left side about halfway between my belly button and bottom of rib cage. it feels tender a little, slightly movable, kind of soft but also a little firm. the one on right side is not tender. I have also had some pain in my upper right abdomen on and off......mild pain.

Brief Answer:
lipoma most likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the details.

* The narrated pea-size lumps in the abdomen on muscles are seemingly
related to lipoma ( accumulation of subcutaneous fat ) and not hernias for
sure.

* Such lesions can provoke mild discomfort over the local area and not
related to abdomen pain inside, which may be a sequence of intestine colic,
twist or else.

Hope this information will help you to deal with the condition in a better way.
Feel free to discuss further.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
follow up .

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Seems very tiny lipoma which is in developing stage and so do not worry at all at this stage.

Usually lipoma remain very silent over long period of times and if it enlarges then consult a surgeon at that time.

Wish you great day.
