Brief Answer: Hi Detailed Answer: Hi Thanks for posting your query on XXXXXXX Yes cerelac can be given to a 6 year old. Mother of the baby is the best person to figure out whether the baby is ready to start of solid food or not. Mostly if the baby is able to hold her neck upright, she can be started on solid food. Among cerelac, she will first need to be started on rice cereal. Later other grains can be given. Cereals with fruits should be tried in the end. Give at least 2 weeks interval before starting new type of food. The cereal should be thin. Initially she will take just one or two spoons. Breast milk can follow the solid food in a meal. Do not be discouraged if she rejects a type of food. You may re-try it in 2 - 3 days. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards Dr Vaishalee
